IR2 is the State Department's symbol for "Child of U.S. citizen". 4,052 IR2 immigrant visas were issued worldwide in September 2025, up 36% on September 2024 (2,979), 8.8% of the month's immigrant issuances and the 5th largest class of 49.
The Department publishes annual totals for immigrant classes separately, in its Report of the Visa Office immigrant visa tables, which this site does not yet carry; this site does not add monthly reports together.
103 posts issued at least one IR2 visa in September 2025. The largest were Ciudad Juarez (565, 13.9%), Santo Domingo (472, 11.6%) and Manila (252, 6.2%).
By foreign state of chargeability, the largest groups that month were Mexico (564), Dominican Republic (424) and Philippines (249).
