Reading the charts

The bulletin prints two charts for each preference group. The final action chart gives the cut-off dates on or before which a visa number can be issued; the dates for filing chart gives the dates from which applicants may assemble and submit documents. "Current" means no cut-off applies; "Unavailable" means no numbers are available that month. Which chart applies to adjustment-of-status filings in a given month is announced by USCIS. This site records what each bulletin printed and how it moved; it does not say where a date will go.
